About this project
To de-stress before my toddler's open heart surgery, I created cozy and cute hospital shirts along with legwarmers and hair bows for her hospital stay and post-care. The nurses and doctors loved the easy front access to check her incision and vitals and other "heart moms" loved how cute she looked. Plus, she was warm and comfy.
I would like to be able to donate personalized sets to children facing upcoming surgeries or procedures to help create a sense of normalcy for their families.
How I would use the money
The average shirt costs approximately $8 to make, exclusive of my time (shirt = $4, ribbon = $3, adhesives and tags = $1), so with $500, I could make 55 shirts. With the extra $60, I can purchase 30 sets of legwarmers ($2/set). I will donate 25 sets of legwarmers from my stock, as well as matching hair bows or flowers for any girl who receives a Heal-A-Boo-Boo package.
